The UHealth System at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Biostatistician 2 in the Public Health Sciences Department
SUMMARY
The Biostatistician 2 supports research activities under the direction of a principle investigator, program director or designee of the principle investigator or program director.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Finalizes analysis plans and writes detailed specifications for analysis of files, consistency checks, tables, and figures.
Communicates with clients regarding statistical analysis issues.
Prepares data, conducts statistical analysis, and summarizes results for large research projects.
Interprets analyses and writes statistical sections of study reports. Prepares results for progress reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
Maintains and documents studies’ databases.
Consults with study investigators on planning and specifying statistical analysis.
Provides support to resolve barriers to analysis and consults with other methodologists and statisticians.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master’s degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
Proficiency with statistical software packages, particularly SAS and R
Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

Department Specific Functions
Develops study design and data analysis plans.
Analyzes, evaluates and reports on complex observation research data.
Prepares results for progress reports and presentations.
Prepares results for peer-reviewed publications and being a co-author on peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Maintains and documents the studies' databases.
Presents results of statistical analyses to study investigators.
Consults with the study investigators on planning and specifying statistical analysis.
Consults on data collection methods and quality control.
Provides problem solving support for barriers to analyses and consults with other methodologists anstatisticians.
Other duties as assigned.
